Buying a Vacation Rental? How to Increase Your Vacation Rental Bookings

If you are in the market for a vacation rental home, there are a few different things that you should look for to make sure that your vacation rental is a total success. Because you want all of your bookings to be full and you want to get good vacation reviews, there are a few things that you can look for.

Choose a House With Only a Few Bedrooms

Choosing a ten-bedroom house may seem fun when you are first looking at listings, but it may be harder to fill when you are listing your vacation rental online. Choose a rental house that just has 3 or 4 bedrooms (and remember that you can always put more beds in them). Because a lot of people don't travel in large groups, having a huge house to fill may prove to be a lot more difficult to book than if you were to try to fill a house with only a few bedrooms.

Choose One With a Large Living Space

You may not want to choose a vacation rental property that has tons of bedrooms because you may not be able to fill every bed, but you may want to look for a vacation rental that has a large living space. When you have a large, open living space it may attract potential rentals who want to have more space to cook, watch movies, and just hang out with friends. Pack the living space with a large sectional, a TV, extra seating, and even some fun board games for everyone to play.

Location Is Everything

Location is everything when you are trying to rent out a property. If you live in a city or town that's near a hot attraction like the beach, a university, the mountains, or a national park, try looking for a house that's near it; that way you can attract a lot of people from out of town. While buying a rental property near a popular location may be more expensive, remember that you can always charge a bit more in rent because of this.

When you do buy the property and create a listing, make sure that you emphasize the fact that you are close to the attractions and list how many minutes you are from it so that renters know.

Shopping for a vacation rental property can be fun, and it may help you earn an extra income that you can count on every month. To ensure that you keep your rental always occupied, keep all of these things in mind. To learn more, reach out to a real estate company that specializes in vacation rentals
